The Lipstick Portraits

Wirklich schade, dass ich keinen Privatjet besitze. Da hätte ich nämlich einen spontanen Abstecher nach New York gemacht, wäre in die 401 Projects Gallery gegangen und hätte mir The Lipstick Portraits: Photographs by Michael Angelo angesehen. Der Fotograf und Hairstylist lichtete Stars wie Dita Von Teese, Susan Sarandon, Amanda Lepore oder Poppy King mit rotem Kussmund ab, die so ihre Solidarität zu jenen kambodschanischen Frauen und Mädchen zeigen, die gegen ihren Willen für sexuellen Handlungen verkauft und mit rotem Lippenstift “kennzeichnet” werden.
Beauty is powerful. It demands a choice. These portraits ask where and in what we choose to find beauty. They ask what kind of world we choose to make.

I really would have wanted to see the beautiful exhibiton “The Lipstick Portraits” by Michael Angelo in New York. Too bad I don’t have my own private jet.
